Stylizimo trapp

A lot of you have been asking me about the “new” cabinet we have in the living room, and the thing is that it´s actually the same cabinet as we had before, we just decided to upgrade it with Superfront to make it more unique and stylish.

Superfront_cabinet_white

Instead of throwing all the Bestå cabinets away, we simply changed the fronts into new ones that had more character, we also added a marble top for a perfect finish ( these are also from Superfront).

So the tip of today will be: The next time when you are thinking of throwing something away, consider the opportunity of upgrading it instead. It will not only last longer, but you will get a “new” unique furniture + you will be saving the environment for trash. Win- win, if you ask me! 😉

This is how the Bestå cabinets used to look before the upgrade:

// Sponsored eventRug_Tisca

Learning the story behind a product usually makes it more interesting, so when I got invited to Tisca´s factory in Transylvania to learn more about their rugs, I said yes right away.

I´ve known about the Tisca rugs for a long time, but it wasn´t until last year at a press event that I realized how many beautiful rugs they actually have. It is also here that I could see and feel the good quality they have on their rugs.

     Transylvania

Not only did we see a charming country with stunning landscape when we arrived in Transylvania, but their factory in Cisnadie was a very interesting experience where we could see the whole manufacturing process and where enthusiastic Walter, one of the owners, guided us around and answered all our questions.

What I really like about the Tisca rugs is that every one of their rugs is fashioned by hand in natural pure sheep’s wool. This is a product made with love and care.

Another thing I love is the range of options they offer. You can choose from 26 different structures and 96 colours! Circular, oval, square and polygonal shapes are possible too, and if you have a large room it´s actually possible to get a rug with a width up to 6 metres!

Their hand-woven rugs are also woven in linen weave and therefore equally beautiful on both sides; they can be reversed as often as you like. Thumbs up for that!

So if you are looking for a unique rug in your home and something that not only looks great but feels great (barefoot walking on these rugs is just fantastic), I can surely recommend that you take a look at the Tisca rugs.

Gone but still here“Gone, but still here”

Last night on my way back from Romania (I´ll tell you more about my trip later), I read a very touching blogpost about the “STYLIZIMO by Emmeselle” silk screens over at Therese Knutsen´s blog. I actually fell a few tears on the train when reading her interpretation of her favorites.

When you create a series from the heart like this, it means so much when you hear that the art is moving others. I´m feeling very grateful for all the nice feedback we get on our butterfly-collection. Thank you!

You can read more about what the series is about here.

Dare To_Organize

Yesterday I spent my entire day at the Oslo Design Fair (former Gave-og interiørmessen) and I came home very impressed by all the beautiful exhibitions and the inspiring talks on the stage.

The theme of the design Fair is “The Return of Cosy” and is all about how to make a home cosy and finding out why we now have this renewed interest in cosiness, both internationally and in Norway.

It´s many ways to make a home feel cosy and it´s very individual what people actually think what makes a home cosy, so in the end I guess it´s up to you to find your own way…

I did find a lot of nice products though and here are some of the exhibitions and products that caught my eye: (First photo) I´ve written about the Dare To Organize system before. But I just have to show it again, as I´m so impressed by this clever design!

Handverk

2. The Danish “Händverk” had a lot of interesting products. I have a big crush on this daybed!

Lolly_Gridy

At the 100% Norway exhibition I found a lot of nice products, and some of them that I haven´t mentioned here on the blog before is this Lolly by Gridy. The Lolly family consist of a stacking stool, small bench and coffee table.

…and talking about cosiness; what´s more cosy that cuddling up in a nice throw in front of the fireplace? Loving the “Norway Cloth” collection by Jon Pettersen

Pieistallo

Andreas Bergsaker´s lamps “Piedistallo” and “Petiole” is so so beautiful. Let´s home someone will set them into production.

Per Olav_trend

Here are some of the details from the stylist Per Olav Sølvberg´s amazing interpret of a cosy living room. It´s all about the details and the objects that tells a story…
