There is no secret that I´m longing for spring as I´m not much of a “winter-person”. Although there have been a couple of days with sunshine and spring in the air, it is actually snowing again today. Hint of colors and fresh tulips are helping me to keep the spring feeling in my office. They remind me that better and brighter days will come….

Simplifying your decoration

The weekend is over, which means back to work. Important planning and interesting meetings regarding Stylizimo Shop are on the schedule this week. It´s hard to describe how grateful I am for all the members on Stylizimo.com, and seeing you are active uploading photos, communicating with each other and shopping great products. Our goal is to simplify your decorating by collecting everything interior at one place, but I also enjoy that it´s a great meeting place for like-minded people… I hope to meet you there!

Valentine´s day table setting

I know Valentine´s day is all about red and pink, but this year I wanted to try out something different when I decorated the Valentine table. The love is in the details this year… and it´s all about gold!

What I have done:

I have used lots of white and gold balloons to give it a celebration feeling
I´ve made hearts out of gold cardboard that I put on some paper straws
I painted my wooden cutlery in gold and wrote “I love you” on the knife
Found some old scrabble tiles and wrote L O V E
Cut out small gold circles of paper as decoration for the table
Added a few neutral flowers to soften the look and make it more welcoming

Creative valentine ideas

We should of course celebrate love everyday and I´m sure many of you do, but I think it´s nice to have a day once a year were you get reminded to do that little extra for the one you love, so I´m actually a bit excited about Valentine´s day.

It doesn´t have to be about a fancy dinner or expensive gifts either; personally I prefer to celebrate the day at home, setting a romantic table for two that will let me show my love through my creativity. Maybe you can surprise your love with his/her favorite coffee with a romantic touch, or make some chocolate dipped strawberries like I´ve done here – a couple of simple ideas that doesn´t cost much.

I´ll finish my Valentine table setting today, so I can share it here with you tomorrow. Maybe you´ll get a few ideas there as well…

A tip for the kitchen

A dash of green is a must in the kitchen, I think. Herbs is the easiest trick in the book to make a kitchen look fresh, and it looks much more inviting for cooking. A bonus is the great smell that herbs have….mmmmm, best there is!
