Kitchen planning

Only few weeks ahead we will have a new kitchen in our house, and we are both super excited over finally getting our dream kitchen. We have used a lot of time planning it and we have gotten it exactly the way we wanted!

I´ve made a moodboard of some of the products we have chosen as well as some that I have on my wishlist, so you might get some ideas yourself if you are renovating your kitchen at the moment.

1. We have chosen JKE Design´s RIVA black oak with no handles.
2. For the cutlery – black and elegant.
3. As a huge Arne Jacobsen fan, we just had(!) to have this Voila KV1 in brass! This will really stand out and “complete” the kitchen. ( Design: Arne Jacobsen )

4. Gaggenau oven, warming drawer and espresso machine in anthracite.
5. Adding marble somehow… Maybe as a tray, a mortar and behind the kitchen sink.
6. Having the Siemens ceiling-mounted island chimney hood so we can enjoy our view.
7. Chose the Siemens FlexInduction in 80cm for cooking.
8. Dreaming of the Royal Copenhagen Black Fluted Mega, and Black Fluted.
9. We haven´t quite decided yet, but I think we will have a white treated pine floor as in the living room. I know it´s not the most convenient, but it will add warmth to the room and I think it looks fabulous against black.
10. Besides of some kind of downlights I´m thinking a few lamps like these over the counter top. Would look good together with the kitchen faucet in brass, don´t you think?
11. A 3D drawing of how the kitchen will look like. We have chosen a black Kitchen sink and a black laminate counter top by DFI Geisler that is new on the market. It´s totally matt and easy to keep clean/out of marks. It´s called Solid Core Fenix. I found a video of it on YouTube if you´re interested.
12. Would´t mind having these black Eva Solo Dura Line in our new kitchen. On my wishlist!

The bedroom in our new house was screaming for a makeover (see the before-picture at the end of this post), and we are both really pleased with how it turned out after the renovation. We still have a few projects in there before we can call it finished, but I´m sharing BEFORE & AFTER photos anyway … Maybe you´ll get a few ideas if you have a renovation project ahead.

THIS IS WHAT WE DID:

WALLS:
– Used the “Jotun Sparkel for Grove underlag” on all the walls to cover up the old structured wallpaper ( miljøstrie ). Finished with Jotun Slettvegg for a smooth finish and to prevent cracks.
– Painted three of the walls in LADY Pure Color 9925 Bergknatt
– The “window wall” painted with LADY Pure Color 1624 Letthet / Windows: LADY Supreme Finish, Silkematt – 1624 Letthet
– Removed all the mouldings ( windows, doors, ceiling and floor) for a cleaner and more modern look.

CEILING:
– Plastered the ceiling and installed white LED downlights.

FLOOR:
– Removed the carpet tiles on the floor and painted the heated concrete floor in the color Letthet 1624 ( using Tresjerners betongmaling )

DOORS: – Mouldings were removed and the doors got painted with LADY Supreme Finish Matt, 9938 Dempet sort. The door handles were spray painted in matt black.

STORAGE:
– Removed two big wardrobes with sliding mirror walls, and replaced one of them with two double MALM dressers for storage. ( On the other wall we will build a customized wardrobe solution.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and celebration of the new year! Any new year´s resolutions you want to inspire me with? *smile*

I have to say that celebrating Christmas in our new house was pretty awesome. I really love our new house, and the fact that we have more space to gather family and friends. We still have a lot of work to be done in the house, but we are enjoying it anyway. The living room is mostly finished as well as the master bedroom as I´m showing you a sneak peek of here… If you pop by on Monday I will show you BEFORE and AFTER bedroom photos, so stay tuned!

Table setting New Year_ Stylizimo

We are celebrating New Years Eve with good friends in our new house tomorrow, and the table setting is all set. Since I love to decorate the table and do the little extra on days like this, I usually start the day before so I have more time for it, and in case I realize I´m missing something…

It´s usually all about the details and this year I´ve placed a “Happy New Year”-card (that I found on Pinterest) on each napkin plus some greens from the garden. In the middle of the table I have glitter, balloons and some Christmas balls – all together in black, grey and gold.

The champagne glasses are also ready for the welcoming…
