White kitchenWe spend a lot of time in our kitchen and I really appreciate our little low budget makeover so we now have a brighter kitchen with more workspace. You can view pictures of how it looked before I changed the cover panels and added a few more units here.

If you want to see more of the new kitchen, I have more pictures of it over at Stylizimo.com.

Customized shelvingIn lack of flowerpots, this cactus ended up in a glass jar I had. It´s probably now the best way to keep a cactus alive, but it looks kind of nice, huh? *smile*

This weekend I´m heading over to Bergen for some inspiring days at the “Interiør & Boligmessen” with lots of other bloggers. Are you going to be there? I hope I will see you!

Happy weekend!

DIY marble table

Recently I saw a DIY marble coffee table over at Ikea Live, and I got inspired to try the same with my dining table.  I bought a couple of rolls with marble foil contact paper at Panduro and in aprox. 15 min. we had a new marble dining table! This is a great idea if you want a marble table, and don´t afford a real one. The only drawback is that the film was not wide enough for the table, and that it became a line in the middle, so it does not feel quite real, but if you use it on a small table, or even better, find a wider foil you can make yourself a beautiful table.

Flea market_marbleBig pepper grinders are usually expensive, but I found one at the second-hand store for almost nothing. I cleaned it first and then I spray painted it black for a better look. Now it´s one of my favorite items in the kitchen.

Other great finds at the second-hand store are the marble tray and the salt and pepper shakers. Marble is a expensive material, but these were real bargains! Makes me happy!

Dining area_cabin

Did you have a nice weekend? I´ve been at our family cabin this weekend, and we had a wonderful time with good food and lots of fresh air. It´s really nice spending time up in the mountains this time of year. All the colors and the warm light  – so magical!

Here are a few shots from inside the cabin. It´s a very nice second home..
