Olava Høie of Scandinavia

A GOOD DAY STARTS WITH A GOOD NIGHT`S SLEEP

At the inspiring press event on Friday, it was love at first sight and touch when I saw the new Olava bedding by Høie of Scandinavia. With its herringbone patterned textile, made out of the softest linen and cotton in light grey it would be a perfect match for our bedroom.

The bedding is part of the new collection called “Ren skandinavisk” that represents fabrics in light shades and materials, all delicate, sensuous and that will fall lightly on our bodies – sounds perfect to me. I´m adding this bedding to my Christmas wish-list right away!

Høie of Scandinavia´s autumn collection will be available in stores and online from early September.

ART BY Sih

LET ME INTRODUCE ART BY SIH + STYLIZIMO

Today I am happy to share with you the result of a collaboration I have done with the artist Silje Holst, who some of you may already know through her brand ART BY Sih.

What you might not know is that Silje and I are friends and have known each other since high school. Thinking back to when we first started hanging out I remember we both where drawn towards things that would explore our creativity and artistry. Fast-forwarding to today, it is fun to see that this creative spark has followed us both and that we are now working in the creative fields. It was clear that we had to do something together…

Silje´s paintings and prints have quickly received great interest both in and outside Norway, so if you have not checked out her work yet you should. For our collaboration we were therefore looking for a way we could combine Silje´s creative talents and my style.

So after a lot of pondering, talking and testing I am proud to show you these two limited edition posters, called “Bliss” and “Goodbye“.

Since we both love nature, the main theme of this collaboration is the forest and our aim is that you can get a sense of the peacefulness that nature gives into your own home.

I hope you like them as much as we do, and if you would like to get a copy you can purchase them HERE. ( international shipping )

Autumn news in an inspiring setting

AUTUMN NEWS IN AN INSPIRING SETTING

The Norwegian brands Northern Lighting, Høie of Scandinavia and Wik & Walsøe invited to a very inspiring press event last night. They had transformed the Dreyer Hensley Studio into a stunning home with help from the talented stylists Per Olav Sølvberg and Kirsten Visdal, and their products where displayed together in a magical homey environment for us to see.

I will write about their new products later, first I have to show you some photos from the event. As you can see, everything had a nice Autumn feeling to it, and the industrial apartment they had created was truly inspiring with its personal touch. I would love to have an apartment like this! Would´n you?

Low-budget pot

LOW-BUDGET POT FOR THOSE BIG PLANTS

Big pots are usually very expensive, so let me share a low-budget pot tip for you today. For bigger plants these paper storage bags are perfect as posts, and are also decorative and usually very affordable. I found this one at H&M Home a couple of weeks ago, but I´ve seen similar ones in both flower shops and interior shops, so I´m sure you´ll find one ( otherwise, just Google: paper storage bags, and you´ll find some online. )

PS! To avoid water on the floor when watering the plant, put a bowl at the bottom of the paper bag.

A MERRY MISHAP FOR DBKD

PRODUCT LOVE  – A MERRY MISHAP FOR DBKD

A lot of new products are launched these days, and one of the collections I find very interesting and beautiful are the vases/pots Jennifer Hagler behind A Merry Mishap has made for the Swedish company DBKD.

The soft shape is abstractly inspired by the female human figure, notorious for beautiful curves, and she has made them in 3 shades (a milky white to a mole color to a smoky grey) that is tonal and complimentary to each other so you can display several colors together.

I´m guessing these vases/pots will be very popular when they get in the stores, and I can´t wait to buy some myself!

What do you think of this collection? Something you would like to have in your home?
