Born in Sweden has a great selection of products, and I have been given the pleasure to showcase some of them in my own home so you can get to know them better.

One of the products that I have had on my wishlist for quite some time is the candle holder Stumpastaken. I just love the industrial design and the fact that you can vary with different types of lights. Each hole can fit a regular candle, a stump or a tea light. Clever! As shown in the picture above, you can also vary how you decorate with the lights, giving you plenty of options how you want to use it. Either way, you will always end up with a pleasant and warm atmosphere in the room.

The Stumpastaken is available in three sizes, one of them being an advent candle holder. You can also buy accessories to them like stands, bowls and grids, the bowl being a favorite as it is a smart way to store the stumps.

I also want to point out that the Stumpastaken is made of 100% recyclable material and a fun fact is that the cork you see in the picture above is actually leftovers from the wine cork production in Portugal. It is great to see that there are more and more companies that focus on the environmental when they make their products!

Born in Sweden´s beautiful Christmas tree holder has received the “best-in-test” award in Sweden, due to its stability and strong screws that hold even a very large tree. But not only will it ensure the Christmas tree is standing upright, I have to say that it looks really nice as well! A big thumb up from me if you are looking for a quality Christmas tree holder.

Their new collection of rugs is really nice as well. They are made out of finest New Zealand wool and linen warp, which will help keep your feet warm now during winter. Above you see the Tom Black in the size 170 x 230 cm in my dining area.

Another great product is the amazing Sphere vases that all contains a ball of stainless steel. This is a perfect vase for anyone who wants to make a nice flower arrangement the easy way. The smart ball holds the flowers and makes the bouquet look beautiful even with only a few flowers  – perfect for those long Amaryllis as you can see.

I hope you enjoyed my showcase, and if you are looking for shops that sell these products you can check out their global retailer list here. For my Scandinavian readers, you can find many of their products at Royal Design.

DIY Advent Calendar

DIY ADVENT CALENDAR TREE

The 1st of December is just around the corner and children (and adults) all over world is waiting eagerly for the advent calendar. There is no better motivation to get up in the morning than knowing that there is a little gift waiting for you : )

But the gifts must have a place to hang, which brings me to this very simple and affordable DIY advent calendar tree.

To make this calendar all you basically need is a long rounded wooden stick (or you can use tree branches), and approx. 3 meter of twine or yarn.

DIY Advent Calendar

WHAT I DID:

1) I had a wooden stick laying around, and to make the tree I sawed it in 7 pieces. The total length of the stick was 270 cm and I cut it up in the following sizes: 65, 55, 45, 35, 25, 15, and 10 cm.

2) Afterwards, I sanded each end.

3) Then I took the twine and found the center of it. The center will be the top of the tree, and where you will you hang it on the wall.

4) Start with the smallest stick and on each side make a simple knot. Make sure the knot is on the back of the stick so you don´t see it.

5) Continue to the next stick and repeat. For my tree I measured the distance between each stick and ended up with 12 cm.

6) After the last stick is added make sure that all sticks are levelled with each other, and adjust if necessary. Then make a double knot, and cut off the remaining twine.

7) As for the star, I used a Christmas ornament that I already had and glued it to the twine. I did this after I had hung the tree on the wall.

For the numbering of the gifts you can get creative and use walnuts or other Christmas tree ornaments and write the number with a marker. There are also countless ways you can make this tree in your own style. Some suggestions are painting the sticks or using a ribbon instead twine.

Hopefully this calendar will inspire you to make one your own, and maybe you even can get your children to join you for a little Christmas workshop.

20 JULEGAVETIPS FRA ROOM21

I dag kan du spare mye penger på julehandelen hos Room21.no. I anledning Black Friday gir de deg nemlig i dag 500 kr rabatt på alle kjøp over 3000 kr! ( gjelder ikke Hay )
For å hjelpe deg i gang gir jeg deg her hele 20 julegavetips.

I want!
