My creative mom made this beautiful ice candle with tulips. I think it’s so lovely and I want to share the idea with you.
This is how you can make your own:
1. Fill up a big bucket with cold water.
2. Put flowers, pine cones, twigs etc. in the bucket
3. Then but a smaller bucket inside the other bucket to make a hole for the candle.
4. Put something heavy on the top, or use tape to hold the little bucket down.
5. Freeze the water outside or in your freezer.
6. When it is ready, remove the buckets and put a candle in the hole.
This can also be a great way to serve seafood in if you are going to impress your guest – try different shapes for different purposes.
A perfect way to welcome your guest, don’t you think?
Good luck!
♡
Thank you mom!
Nice idea! It looks so lovely. The ice structrure is very interesting. 🙂

I make this sometimes in Winter, but never with tulps, a nice idea. But I do it only when it freezes. I put it on my gardentable.
Have a nice day. Riet.

this is really awsome! An seems so easy to make… unfortunately here in the south of Greece where I live the temperature won’t let it live for a long time.. =S
Thank you for the tips about boiling the water before you fill the bucket, Nina! I didn’t know that the ice got clearer from this.
I’m so glad for all the sweet comments today – thank you so much! <3
Love, Nina
Thank for your comment on my blog. The beverages at the Ikea coffeebar are lower. A latte is about a euro cheaper, about $ 1,40.
BTW love this idea. Almost makes me long for winter, almost….
Wow, you must have gotten your talent from your mom! How neat! I love thee look of the candle! I’m afraid that the ice will melt in 5 minutes in the tropical weather here, but I would love to do this after we move back to DC!
This is such a cool idea! 🙂
so cool!
This looks so poetical. However I can hardly imagine how long this decor will survive when to put in candle. Candle flame’s heat will melt this decor very quickly. But outside in the garden during winter time this can look very nice. I can imagine that.
This is a great blog. I am pretty much impressed with your good work. You put really very helpful information. Keep it up.
