I am very proud of being Norwegian after visiting the Gifts & Interior Trade Fair here in Norway yesterday. After they hired Dagny Thurmann-Hoelseth behind The Daily D to be the creative leader of the fair, she and her team has done a remarkable work raising the trade fair to a much higher level than before, and where it´s finally more focus on Norwegian design!
// NORWEGIAN TALENTS
One of the things that impressed me the most was the “Talent” area by Klubben that shows nearly 60 objects, all designed by young Norwegian designers. Everything they show in this area is available to consumers, and both Norwegian and international manufacturers are represented. I found a lot of new products to add on my wishlist, and my goal this year is to invest in more Norwegian design!
The exhibition is designed and crafted by Sarah Wright Pilmet, Thomas Jenkins, and Sverre Uhnger.
The mirror Rise & Shine by Hunting and Narud is one of many favories from the “Talent” area. I also have to mention the beautiful Saddle chair by Angell, Wyller and Aarseth that was also shown at the trend area – I want it!! ( See it in leather and grey fabric in the picture below )
I wouldn´t mind having the Lune lamp by Sverre Uhnher either.
// TRENDS SS 2015
The trend area “Tendenser” done by talented interior stylist Kirsten Visdal was also truly impressive. It was all together very delicate and her prediction of this spring/summer-trends went straight to the heart – I love the color schemes and the products she has chosen and I suddenly felt for more color in our home.
Tiki Sofa by Andreas Engesvik in leather – such a beauty and on my wishlist of course!
Saddle by Angell, Wyller and Aarseth
NATURE, TRADITION & GREEN VALUES will be the three most important trends in Norway this spring/summer according to Kirsten Visdal and Dagny Thurmann-Hoelseth. I hope they are right, because I really like what I see…
What do you think?
