A house can change a lot in character just by painting it in a new color, and one of the first things I thought of when we bought our house 1,5 years ago, was to paint it all black. I´ve always had a thing for black houses, and I was certain that this house would look better in black. The grey wooden ceiling would also then look better.
Another thing was that we didn´t want to highlight the windows like the way it was done before, so we chose to paint them in the same color so they “disappeared” a bit.
We chose to paint with Jotun Optimal and the windows with Jotun Optimal Window and Door. Both in color 9938 Dempet Sort, a color that we have used in several places inside the house as well.
We are very happy with the result, and we think 9938 Dempet Sort fits the house a lot better! Now we just have to find some cool lamps, fix the slope and not to mention planting some flowers/trees to make it look more welcoming on this side as well. The crooked railing in front of the house will also disappear.
What do you think of the transformation?
HERE YOU SEE HOW THE HOUSE LOOKED BEFORE WE PAINTED IT:

Hi Nina,
I’m loving the new look the paint gives your home. Great choice!
On the other hand I’m a litte bit confused. My bloglovin feed suddenly says “Steinar Larsen from Stylizimo blog published a post”. Even for all your previous posts… Who is this? Did you change anything or is it just me?
All the best from Germany,
Marie-Louise
Thank you! We are very happy with the new color, and think it suits the house well.
I´ll check out what have happened with Bloglovin. Steinar Larsen is my boyfriend, so he might have done something with the feed 🙂 It should still say my name though… Thanks for telling!
Best,
Nina
Just stopping by to letting you know everything is back to normal… whatever it was. Maybe even your sneaky boyfriend 😉
Best,
Marie-Louise
That´s good! Thank you 🙂

Thank you, Millie 🙂
You just gave ma a brilliant idea! I am going to paint the house in dark grey. Fabulous! Yours looks great!
That is good to hear 🙂
Your new color look great! We just finished repainting our house a darker color. After much discussion, we used “Grizzle Gray” by Sherwin Williams on the body and “Simply White” by BM on the trim. Very pleased with the results. New colors can make a big difference.
Thank you! Your house sounds very nice as well 🙂 A new color can certainly make a big difference.

Hei! Så utrolig flott huset ble. Ble veldig inspirert! Jeg lurer på hvilken farge du har brukt på murveggen nede? Den ser litt lysere ut på bilde.
Kjempefin blogg!
