Soft moments - painting by Nina Holst

It hasn´t been much time for painting lately, but finally I´ve had some quality time with my brushes again. And here is the result!

Since it´s all about grey-beige colors in my head these days, I just had to paint a painting in this color-scheme as well ; ) I think it turned out very soft and calm so I´ve called it “Soft moments”.
The painting is 1200×1000 mm, and is available for sale. Check out my website for more info and a close up photo.

If you are interested you can send me an email to nina(at)stylizimo(dot)com

LADY Washed Linen

As I´ve told you earlier this week, I painted our white kitchen in LADY Pure Color 10679 Washed Linen last weekend. I showed you a little sneak peek from the dining area, but today I share how the color turned out with our black kitchen units. With this light grey-beige color we got a more warm and soft feeling in the kitchen, and still kept it light – which is important to me as we have so much black in the room.

You might notice that I´ve also removed the DIY backsplash we used to have. I figured out that it took too much light, so I replaced the shelf above the counter with an Ikea shelf that I painted in the same color as the wall. A low-budget kitchen shelf for sure!

Simple lunch table setting

Why not invite some friends or family over for a simple lunch this weekend? A soup is always nice this time of year, and you can have it ready long before the guests arrive so there is no stress involved. The table setting can be as simple as I have done here. Just put bread and the soup on the table and you have an informal lunch I bet you all will enjoy!

Happy weekend!

100% Norway Dare To Designstudio

100% Norway is opening its doors for the thirteenth time at the London Design Fair today. I was planning on visiting this year, but with too much work I´ve decided to stay home working instead.

Curator Max Fraser has brought together 17 Norwegian designers and studios whose work engages with the contemporary design story of Norway, and I´m very proud to say that one of them is the Trondheim-based studio Dare to Designstudio, founded by interior designers Anniken Zahl Furunes and Hege Magreth Åbelvold. They exhibit their flexible, modular wooden storage system ORGANIZE that I´ve written about a few times on my blog already.

Andreas Engesvik will also be there to exhibit IDA ( photo below) – a prototype of a sustainable steel-framed dining chair that can be easily reupholstered and repainted, extending its lifespan over many years.

You can check out all the products that will be exhibited at 100% Norway´s website. There are many interesting designs to look at!
