Do you remember the jar ideas from Pottery Barn that I showed you last week? I went off the day after and bought two jars at Ikea and filled them with some dried heather and a block candle. Quite decorative don’t you think?
I have some more ideas of what I can fill the jars with, and I will show them to you when I have them ready…
So are you all enjoying fall so far? We have had 106 ºF ( 41 ºC ) the last two days here in LA, and fall feels suddenly so far away again. It probably sounds strange, but I want fall back!
Thank you so much for all the nice comments on my table setting yesterday!
It makes me very happy to hear from all of you.

I love having people over for dinner, and even if it’s just a weekday I like to set the table nicely so my guests feel welcome. Last time I did a little extra with the napkins; I tied a twine around the napkin and I added some dried heather underneath. It gave the table a touch of autumn and made it a lot more cosy and welcoming.

I didn’t use these rules, but here you have the basic rules for table setting if you need them for a dinner party someday…

How do you set the table when you are having guests? Do you usually do anything special?
What about weekdays – do you like do something extra for yourself/family/boyfriend?

I’ve seen that some of you bloggers have labelled your jars with Dymo labels. I found the idea so clever and pretty that I now have bought myself a Dymo machine and labelled all my jars in the kitchen. If you like the idea you should try it too – it’s very easy!

I’m very happy with the result, and I can’t wait to find some more things I can label!
It’s so much FUN!
Do you have a Dymo machine? What do you label in your home?

I’m always looking for pretty candle holders because they are usually very decorative and I can’t really get enough of them. I found these hanging jars at Pottery Barn’s website and I love the idea on how you can just fill them up with different stuff around the candle like you see here…

Aren’t they lovely? My favorite is the one with the hazelnuts! Which one is yours?
I also think it would be nice to fill it up with pinecones. I’ve actually started to look for them already, but LA isn’t exactly the place for pine trees  🙂
I need to have some before Christmas time though – they are so decorative!

I don’t know about you, but I like it nice and tidy in my home office. This is a place we usually spend a lot of time, so why not make it a lovely place to be? Therefore I will today give you 10 tips on what I believe is important in a home office.
1. Make sure to have a lamp that gives good light.

2. Fresh flowers is a MUST if you ask me!

3. Use a nice bowl, box or similar for minor things like paper clips, erasers and stamps.

4. A scented candle makes it always a bit more pleasant.

5. Use a decorative cup to keep all your pens in.

6. Have a nice and comfortable chair.

7. Keep it organized by saving paper in boxes / document holders or folders. Remember to mark them with what they contains.

8. Keep a notebook so you can write down your ideas and thoughts.

9. If you have room for it: Make an inspirational mood board to hang in your office.
