Kitchen Villa Hegge

Last Thursday I went on a girls trip with my friends Marthe and Melissa to visit our friend Henriette in Tromsø. On Friday we all drove to Melissa´s fab cabin Villa Hegge in Sjøvegan to spend the weekend together in Northern Norway. Oh, joy!

I have followed Melissa´s cabin renovation-project from the beginning through social media, so it was really nice to finally see her cabin in real life – what an amazing job she has done! Every little detail is well planned, and I just love the personal touch it has. The view from the big windows are also breathtaking. If you are curious about the cabin transformation, you can check out her earlier posts on her Instagram account @villahegge.

Here are some photos from the cabin that I took with my phone ( it isn´t much daylight up in Northern Norway at the moment, so the quality of the photos aren´t the best I´m afraid.. ):

Okay, so we did a little styling before this picture : )

Love the mix of new and old.

A comfy tailor-made Eilertsen sofa with extra storage underneath. Genius!
The framed pressed flowers are made by Melissa´s grandfather a long time ago – how cute is that?

Here you see the main bedroom that she has painted green. So cool, and the view from bed are spectacular. If you want to wake up to this amazing view as well, it´s actually possible to rent her cabin on AirBnb. I promise you a inspiring stay!

If you have been following me on Instagram you might have noticed that I recently rearranged the furniture in the living room. The sofa and dining table have switched places, as I wanted to try out something new. The change also resulted in buying a new sofa and a “new” vintage kelim rug, so suddenly our living room is looking very different from before.

We are very happy with the new living room situation. But who knows? Maybe I´ll move it all back to the way it used to be. Anyway, the new sofa and rug are at least staying..  : )

What do you think? Do you like it?

The Swedish design brand Born in Sweden has been busy, and has now released some new and exciting products.

The first product is the Kitchen Organizer that will help you have your favorite kitchen tools easily at hand. The organizer lets you stylishly store and protect your favorite knives as well other utensils you use for cooking and is available in both white and black. Complementing the organizer is the Angle kitchen roll holder, also available in white and black. Finally, the days are over where I desperately look for some paper towel after having spilled something or my hands need some quick cleaning.

Also, a new addition is the Apple candleholders available in white, black and red – and all in two sizes. Perfect for Christmas as well!

The Sphere vases are not new, but a classic worth sharing *smile*. It is actually their most popular product here in Norway, and I can see why. The vases are available in three different sizes and you can choose between the materials steel, goldplated or copperplated for the sphere. The perfect Christmas gift for yourself?

WIN THE STUMPASTAKEN IN BLACK + A SPHERE VASE

But wait, there is more! Born in Sweden has also launched a new version of the famous Stumpastakan. This fantastic-looking and practical candleholder (it is so smart that you can use both normal candles as well as tealights) is now available in a matt black. What do you think? Pretty cool, right? As with the other Stumpastakan candleholders, this is also made from 100% recycled aluminium. Who would have thought used beer and soda cans could look so good *smile*.

And since Christmas is fast approaching, I am in collaboration with Born in Sweden offering you an early Christmas gift. One lucky winner will receive the new Stumpastakan in black plus a sphere vase! Just head over to my Instagram and follow the simple steps. Good luck!

DIY SLIDING DOORS IN BLACK

Two of the rooms downstairs have been without doors since we renovated them over a year ago. But a few weeks ago, I finally found the time and energy to make the doors that I had planned for these rooms.

The plan was to have sliding doors with a barn door track, and I wanted the doors black. But since black doors are usually very expensive, I decided to make them myself using MDF and paint ( LADY 9938 Dempet Sort ).

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR OWN:

• a barn door track ( we bought ours at R. Bergersen in Oslo )
• MDF cut in the size that you need ( make sure it covers a little bit more than the opening )
• paint
• closet door pulls/handles
• a drill to make a hole for the closet door pulls

They look quite nice, don´t you think? I´m very happy with the result and the fact that we finally have doors to my atelier and our guest room ( I think our guests agree as well *smile*)
