Last week Rosendahl Design Group invited me to “The Blå Hus” in Denmark, that was Bjørn Wiinblad’s home and workshop until his death in 2006. Wiinblad owned a number of houses and apartments in Denmark and Europe, but he reserved a special place in his heart for “The Blå Hus”. Something I can easily understand – what a charming and inspiring house filled to the rim with both his own artwork and others.
“Det blå hus”
The good news is that Rosendahl Design Group is now relaunching Bjørn Wiinblad´s artwork in a new interpretation, as they want to celebrate Wiinblad´s authentic and magical universe in a modern, functional design.
As you can see there will be cups, vases, pots, candleholders, trays etc. available in black, blue, green, red, yellow and purple. View the hole collection over at Bjørn Wiinblad´s website if you want.
For each product sold, a contribution is donated to the Bjørn Wiinblad Fund, for the preservation of “Det Blå Hus” that is now established as a working museum, something that Wiinblad wanted.
Are you familiar with Bjørn Wiinblad´s design? Do you like what you see?
The Bjørn Wiinblad collection will be available in Norway in April.
