Some of you might remember the media room we had in our previous home, and it was with a sense of sadness that my fiance had to sell the media room equipment as there was actually no room in our home that would fit a projector setup.
So to compensate for this I agreed that the TV in the living room could be a bit bigger to get the cinema feeling, but I had some criteria. One being that there should not be any cables, and secondly that it should not become a focal point in the room.
And by focal point I meant that it was not going to be a big TV. But I lost that argument and I am actually happy I did. With the TV now on the wall I see that a smaller TV would actually be too small, and this size is perfect. How big you ask? 65″!
Not only is the TV big, but it is also curved which I didn’t even know existed, but it actually makes a difference. The Samsung TV also comes with a few extra features that I appreciate: Firstly, it is connected to the Wi-Fi network and has plenty of apps so I can i.e. play music through the Spotify app or watch TV series through the HBO app or the NRK app. Secondly, it has a remote control that actually looks pretty good and it can programmed to work with the rest of the equipment. This means one remote and less clutter.
And talking about clutter. The cables are gone, as requested *smile*. We actually had to look for a while for a media cabinet that could be wall mounted, fit speakers and the other equipment and most importantly hide cables . Finally, we found the Unnu cabinet (at HIFI-klubben) and not only does it hide all the clutter but it looks pretty good doing so as well.
So, even though I was a bit sceptical about the the size of the TV I have to say that I am very happy with the end result and I guess there is no surprise that my fiance is ecstatic *smile*

Lovely!! Where do you hide the cables from the TV..? And between the tv and the box( i guess you have one)?
Looks great,love the house!
Xxx
Thank you!
The cables are inside the wall. We just made a hole behind the TV and behind the media cabinet.
That looks sooo good! But have you no cables at all, is it possible to get rid of the electrical cable to connect to the plug? Or did you have that built inte the wall?
Thank you, Sofia. My bad, I should tell you all about this in the blogpost 🙂
Yes, we have cables… We made a hole behind the TV and behind the media cabinet, so the cables could go inside the wall for a cleaner look.
Wow! Love the way the TV actually looks like a framed picture! 🙂
Thanks for one of the best blogs ever!
Great solution! Curved tv is a great thiing, 65 is really big but also depends how big the whole room is.
Klem!

I love the clean look of this, Nina! We have way too many cables everywhere and I hate it! In Australia most apartments are cheaply built, so our walls are mostly paper thin gyprock, making it pretty impossible to hang anything heavy on them, including shelves or wall units. I wish we could do something like this, but maybe in our future home it’s possible 🙂 In the mean while I just keep admiring your home instead! 😉
