Before we started to build the new walk-in-closet, I had to do some groundwork with the walls in the room. We had this old-fashioned wallpaper with structure ( glassfiberstrie ) that I have been wanting to do something with since we moved in 2,5 years ago, but I´ve put it on hold as I thought it was too much work. Then I heard about this wall-renewer “Nyans Cover” from Storeys that is like a thick wallpaper that would cover up our structured wallpaper. PERFECT – this was exactly what I needed; an easy fix!
I´m used to wallpapering walls but was curious how it would be to use this thick wallpaper. Surprisingly it was very easy to apply, and since there was no pattern to take into consideration it was actually done in a few. When I was done, I painted the wallpaper with only one coat of white painting ( since it was already white ). Knowing how it easy it was to do, I have to admit I regret that I haven´t done this sooner… so typical *smile*.
Anyway, I know there are a lot of you that have this type of old-fashioned wallpaper and might want to replace it with a smooth surface. Therefore, I wanted to share this “wall-renewer” with you so you know that there is an easy solution for your old structured wallpaper. Tip of the day!
You can find more info about the product over at Storeys.
