Black kitchen_Sarah Widman for Alvhem

It´s always a pleasure to see the work of team Sarah Widman over at Alvhem, and this apartment is no exception. The devil is in the details for sure, and I love every little detail that I see and get very inspired by them as well. Let me share some things that´s worth noticing:

7 THINGS TO GET INSPIRED BY:

– The rustic wooden details in the kitchen – a nice contrast to the black & white kitchen.
– The fantastic Kelim rug in the kitchen that adds warmth and personality.
– The simplicity of green branches in a glass vase
– The mix of light grey, beige, black and brown – my absolute favorite combo these days!
– All the different art – this makes this home more unique for sure.
– The reading corner. Notice the books in the windows.
– Linen bedding does always make a bed look super comfortable.

What do you get inspired by seeing this apartment? You can see the whole apartment here.

Decorating tips for the window sill

I have been asked if I could share some tips on what to put in the window sill. Normally, I would love to show some styling tips from my own home but that is a bit of a problem since I don´t have any window sills here. Therefore, I had to turn to some other sites for inspiration and I found just what I was looking for over at Alvhem and Fantastic Frank. They always have such inspiring styled homes for sale. Makes me want to buy a home in Sweden : )

Dreaming away looking at those homes, I noticed a few things you can decorate your window sill with:

– Plants and flowers – this is always a good idea!
– Books and stacks of magazines (Be careful if you have a beautiful book/magazine. It will fade in the sun)
– Vases and sculptures
– Lamps
– Candle holders

Just look at these wonderful photos, and see for yourself.

Hopefully you got some ideas… Maybe some of you have something to add to my list?

Living room Stylizimo

I have had a few hours relaxing on the couch this weekend, and the rest of the time was spent cleaning up in the attic, the storage room downstairs, and in all the kitchen cabinets. I have to admit that I have been saving too much stuff, and it was about time to get rid of all the things that we do not need/use. So no more “nice to have” or “maybe I will get use for it later”… It is better to give it away or sell it to someone who actually will use it. The best part of selling the things that you do not use, is that you get money to buy something you really need or want : )

Patera 450 Louis Poulsen

( PS! Gjelder kun for Norge )
