On Thursday I was invited to Nio Rum in Stockholm for the launch of Himla´s unique collaboration with the stylist and photographer Daniella Witte.

The Swedish company Himla has chosen to use Daniella Witte to interpret Himla’s iconic products, based on her fantastic sense of interior and design. Himla offers a wide range of products with high quality for every room in your home and the collection is a perfect match to Daniella’s own decorating style.

Daniella has not only styled but also photographed Himla’s segment, dining, living, bed, and bath. All so beautiful and inspiring, I think!

RHYTHM OF LIFE

Earlier this week I was invited to the launch of Jotun´s LADY Color Chart 2018 – Rhythm of Life. After a year of global lifestyle research, are Jotun now unveiling the 32 shades that will define interiors around the world in the year to come.

Somehow are they always able to impress me with they new beautiful colors and combinations, and this year is now exception. Honestly, this is the most beautiful colors I have seen in a color chart before, so be prepared to get the urge to paint your walls! The only problem is; which one to choose?

Further down you will see more of the new colors and a video of the color chart, but here you see a Autumn moodboard I´ve made with some of my favorites colors from the color chart. I can guarantee that you will see some of these colors on my walls soon ; ) Spotting any favorites of your own?

THE THEMES

City Motions represents modern urban creative culture, expressed through the pared-back design of compact city living spaces. Fusing an industrial aesthetic with comfortable, easy-living simplicity, it presents a refined and restrained palette of deep blues, marble greys and woody browns.

IKEA 2018 catalog - make room for life

MAKE ROOM FOR LIFE

It´s always exciting when IKEA sends out their new catalog, and now it´s finally time to get the new IKEA 2018 catalog in our mailboxes! I actually got mine last week and after having a (long) and enjoyable look at it, I´m full of inspiration after reading all the good ideas and news they present.

This year’s theme is “make room for life”, and is all about making room for life in the spaces of your home where you need it the most! Before you decorate they want you to ask yourself: what do I/we love to do and where?  Maybe you have a hobby that you want to make room for, or do you want more space for guests? Make room for afternoon naps and movie nights or festive gatherings with your favorite people. If you are focusing on what you like to do, it´s so much easier to decorate your home in a way that makes you satisfied. And no matter what it is, I can promise you that this year’s catalog is full of inspiration and tips on how to accommodate more of what matters to you.

Fresh flowers from the garden

FRESH FLOWERS FROM THE GARDEN

I’ve been self served with flowers from the garden this whole summer, and this weekend flower bouquet is no exception. Today´s hand picked bouquet are from my many Japanese spiraeas. They are pink in the summer, but I like them better now that the flowers have gotten almost burgundy-brown – a color I would like to have more of in our living room this autumn. A nice color together with beige, don´t you agree?

CHECK OUT MY NEW OUTDOOR SOFA ON BUDGET!

I love a good bargain, so I usually check out if there is any second-hand to buy at a good price before I purchase what I´m looking for.

My latest bargain is this outdoor sofa that I found on Finn.no last week. I got a 4-seat sofa with footstool inkl. cushions and a table for 1400 NOK – which is over 70% off full price! But as you can see on the before photos, the furniture needed a little makeover. So I put all the cushions covers in the washing machine ( on 60 degrees and with some stain remover ) and painted all the furniture using leftover paint from the house ( Jotun Optimal 9938 Dempet Sort ) after a good wash. Frida over at Trendenser painted these same Ikea modules a few years back, so I knew they would look good in black.

The cushions became all white again ( they actually look awful and had lots of yellow stains, so I thought for a while that I had to buy new ones.. ), and the furniture looked amazing after a couple of coats with black paint.

AFTER:

I chose to use the footstool as a table as well, as I wanted a bigger table.

I´m very happy with the result and of course the good bargain. Something to remember when looking for something new.
